| Bio: | Oh you know, the usual. I'm an occasionally immature thirty-seven year old. I am: in love, a writer, on and off in recovery, a native in a city of transplants, close enough to the beach that the late night fog here is tinged with the barest odor of salt. Lately I'm preoccupied with the dramas of my friends, various drug addict stories, my dog, having a baby, yoga, sushi, dancing, justice. I am trying to incorporate a spiritual practice into my life. I believe in compassion and doing the right thing. I feel safer in the ocean than on land. My husband is an aspiring screenwriter and actor but he always has other projects that bring home the bacon. I inspire some kind of protective instinct in people who get close to me even though I'm very independent and have made it through some of the worst shit on my own. My friends love to make me happy. I think it's because I'm easy to please and I am always moved by kindness. I'm very grateful. I moved from diaryland to LJ because of the option to make private individual entries. I'm pretty sure that online journaling is one of the greatest inventions ever. Probably two thirds of my journal is friends-only posts. I go back and forth between guarding my privacy fiercely and not giving a shit. If you add me I will most likely add you back as soon as I notice. Also, please add me because you want to read me, not because you need me to read you. I try very hard to keep up with everyone but I go through phases where I just can't. I adore you all, and I am happiest when I can read everyone religiously but it doesn't always happen.  Edit March 2006: On March 9th we had a son!   | |
